Colonel Dudley Wylde or Wilde (1611–1653) was the son of Sir John Wilde (or Wylde) of Dargate and Yorletts, the Registrar to the Dean and Chapter who died in 1635. Both were buried in the Cathedral.[1] Nichols records details of his will and records him as 'Dudley Wylde of the precincts of the late Bishop's Palace of Canterbury, esquire.'[2] He gave a book to William Somner.
